"Now what?"
Now what?
8-8 is a disappointment but now its time to focus on the draft.
In the next week we will have our Draft Prospects and Mock draft up and going, and some other cool stuff as we follow the teams that made their way to the playoffs. I'll also be writing about what we should do now looking forward.

"Dallas at Tampa"
Did we need that.
That marks only the second time this season we haven't played down to an opponent, and that was needed. Of course playing down to Tampa's level would have made this city implode. That is an godawful football team.
Tony Romo should be an MVP candidate. There I said it.
In most other seasons when Rodgers, Brees, and Brady weren't having record breaking seasons I think Romo and Eli would both get a few votes. Romo is having the best season of his career, and literally doing everything he can to make this team a contender.
It is funny how fast we forget that this same team was 6-10 last year without Romo. We add Romo and the should be Pro Bowler Rookie Tyron Smith and we might very well completely flip the numbers on that record.
Romo was a near perfect 23-30 for 249 yards and 3 TD's. The TD's going to each Bryant, Austin, and Robinson.
This game was a wash out of the gate. That is a Tampa team that has completely given up on Raheem Morris, which is sad because I do believe he can coach in this league. His young age and ability to keep his composure just lost his locker room.
Up 28-0 at half, when Tampa scored 15 quick points in the third, a lot of cowboys fans had flashbacks of the Detroit game. This time though the effective running of Felix Jones and Sammy Morris got us to a FG and the Bucs never scored again.
31-15 is a great score to get your confidence up. With the Giants losing to the Redskins we are back in first, and control our destiny when it comes to the playoffs.
How bout them Cowboys.

"Sorry for the Neglection"
After that last lost and Finals week, It has been impossible to even look at my own website and what it represents. I must get over it though and fight on as a Cowboys fan and College student. So thoughts on that game. I can't talk about it long or my head will explode.
-Demarco Murray
Well that stinks. He will miss the rest of the season now, but we definitely have a lot to look forward to next year huh? Felix looked good in relief so hopefully him and newly signed Sammy Morris can make an impact together.
-Eli Manning and Tony Romo
What a duel between FELLOW ELITE QB's. Yeah I said it, not only is Eli elite, so is Tony.
-Jason Garrett and Rob Ryan
Blame it on the talent, but there just doesn't seem like something is right here. These players aren't prepared enough.
-JPP
We have Ware and ill take Ware any day of the week over JPP, but watching him go makes me want to make Defensive End a number one priority come April's draft. When was the last time Cowboys had someone on the line that could do things like JPP did?
-MEH
Meh. Tampa should at least be a good game to hopefully get on track again.

"Preview Giants at Cowboys Dec.11"
Best player is DeMarcus Ware. Settled.
And I'm not covering a game like what we saw Thursday because it was truly an embarrassment to the sport.
What we should talk about is the make or break game we have coming but tomorrow night in the NFC East. Whoever wins this game has a significant advantage going forward. Tony Romo and Eli Manning are going to (should) have amazing games against each others weak pass defenses. Eli has won every game he has played at the new Cowboy Stadium, and has had Romo's number lately, but the Cowboys are coming off a tough loss that I do not need to remind y'all of, so a bounce back is needed.
This game is going to be a toss up, and honestly if the Cowboys lose its gonna be a killer.
Demarco Murray is going to have to do what he did during the midseason, luckily Tony Fiammetta is back, thank the heavens. We should see Murray's biggest game in weeks. We cannot sleep on Ahmad Bradshaw though, he is finally healthy and can take over a game, especially if Eli starts slow. These teams are so similar I wanna say a Cowboys win, but who knows with these inconsistent teams.
It is gonna be one of those games that by the end of each teams first drive, you know who the winner will be. It is gonna be a fun one, enjoy, and come back here Monday for play by play analysis.

"Who is the best player on the Cowboys?"
Looking at this roster we have two future hall of famers in silver and blue.
Jason Witten
Demarcus Ware
Both still under 30, they are debatable the two best at their positions in the league. Over the next five years they will break many records for their respected position, and will become first ballot ring of honor member and hall of famers, so who is the better player?
You could debate for hours over the positional value difference between a TE and a pass rushing OLB, on both sides of the ball they serve as a change of pace dependable spark. Thats essentially what happens each time a TE is involved on a pass especially, Jason Witten who always comes in the clutch, and when an OLB puts pressure on or even sacks a QB. They are both game changers of the leagues highest rank. So who is the better player?
Email me at cowboysfootballblog@gmail.com or tweet me at @cowboysFBblog and lets discuss, Friday I will answer.
Tomorrow Ill evaluate tonights Thursday game between Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

Demarco Murray and Tony Fiammetta
So this is my first thought of the day in the history of this website, so what better to do then talk about the status of our boys after the crazy loss to the underwhelming Arizona Cardinals. What everyone wants to talk about after this loss was the terrible coaching of the Dallas coach Jason Garrett. This is understandable because his clock management skills and icing of his own kicker did kill the last minute of the fourth quarter. There was a more troubling thing that led to this lost though. The lack of running game since Tony Fiammetta's mystery injury continues to hurt us. The lack of a running game finally caught up to us and led to a lost. We have been eerily close to a lost in 3 of the last 4 weeks, and Murray's lack of production finally helped end our streak. I do not at all blame Murray. He is infinitely talented and continues to make a case to be Rookie of the year. I also have to give a lot of credit to an underrated and well coach Cardinals Defense. This defense is still only 4 years removed from a Super Bowl, and has some of the better runstoppers in the league at their position in Darnell Dockett and Adrian Wilson. Murray's lack of production though can be directly linked to two things, Fiammetta's absence, and Garrett's use of him. The biggest mistake I think Garrett made this week was giving Murray only 12 carries, how can you abandon a run in a game that was tied at 13 in the fourth quarter. You can't expect your playmakers to make plays without the chance. Still though Fiammetta's absence might have not made any extra carries given to Murray matter.
-Murray was averaging a staggering 8.1 Yards a Carry with Fiammetta at FB
-Murray has averaged a pedestrian 3.4 Yards a Carry with John Phillips or Bennett filling in.
Fiammeta isn't an All-Pro FB by any means, but he is a pure runblocking machine and it is time to try and find his replacement before things go array. We brought Shaun Chapas up from the practice squad this week but lets look at a few replacements we could look at in free agency.
-Madison Hedgecock
A former 2nd team All-Pro, he could be talked out of retirement for a chance at his former team NYG.
-Leonard Weaver
A former All-Pro and my personal choice for replacement. He is a pure run-stopper desperately chasing a ring.
-Tony Richardson
The former cowboy is one of the greatest of All-Time but at 39 he is all but done. He could definitely be effective for 2 or 3 games in a pure runblocking role until Fiammetta returns.
